WHEC: A Chronology of Milestones and Collaborations Dedicated to women's well-being and health worldwide

2001 -- 12th April; Established to undertake various projects / programs to improve women's health & status worldwide.
Registered in the United States of America; offices opened in Springfield and Holyoke, Massachusetts.
1st December; Headquarter of Women's Health and Education Center (WHEC) at 300 Stafford Street, Suite 265, Springfield, MA opened its doors.

2002 -- 24th October; Online Peer-Reviewed Journal title: WomensHealthSection.com launched in &association with the Department of Public Information of the United Nations and eclecTechs.

2003 -- 30th June; The Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations of the Department of Public Information (DPI) approved Women's Health and Education Center (WHEC) for association with the Department.

2004 -- 9th January; The Executive Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations Associated with The United Nations Department of Public Information acknowledged the mission of WHEC.
25th October; Letter of Support and Acknowledgement from the World Health Organization.

2005 -- 14th January; License for Publication signed with Bulletin of the World Health Organization.
7th April; NGO Briefings on World Health Day at the United Nations presented about the mission of Women's Health and Education Center (WHEC) and its Online publication: WomensHealthSection.com.
1st July; the article regarding WomensHealthSection.com title: Internet health learning to improve women's health, published as a letter in Bulletin of the World Health Organization (page 557).
29th July; UN Chronicle published the article title: Safe Motherhood -- A Matter of Human Rights and Social Justice, as a lead article for the Millennium Development Goal # 5 (Improve Maternal Health).
25th August; Acknowledgment of the mission of Women's Health and Education Center (WHEC) by Economic and Social Commission for Asia the Pacific (UN ESCAP).
7th December; Letter of Support and Acknowledgment from the United Nations University regarding e-learning publication WomensHealthSection.com.

2006 -- 1st September; Sign Out column (Insights and reflections from thought leaders in obstetrics and gynecology) title: The Internet as a classroom in women's health, published in Contemporary OB/GYN (page 120).
15th October; WHEC Update - A Newsletter of worldwide activity of Women's Health and Education Center (WHEC) launched.
1st November; the article title: Health-care patents and interests of patients, published in Bulletin of the World Health Organization (page 919) Ref. No. 06-033340

2007 -- 10 October; Invited by Academic Partnership Unit / Academic Initiative Section of the United Nations to participate in the special edition focusing on Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Article title: Improving Maternal Health through Education; has been accepted for publication by UN Chronicle.
1 November; article title: Contraception counseling and compliance; published by Bulletin of the World Health Organization. It has become the program/project of WHO.
